I had one in high school that was a total paperweight. Thus, I wasn’t sure if it was worth it to buy another one. Of course, there are cheaper detectors available at your local Best Buy or Radio Shack. You get what you pay for. This detector picks up everything. It gives you a great head start on the police and state troopers (Ka Band). It also picks up all of the local speed cameras that are spread around Maryland (Laser). Yes, you also get the occasional motion activated sliding door that will set it off (k band). In any event, I drive 35-50k miles a year. This was totally worth the investment. I’m not the least bit hesitant to trust this detector.
